Most of these are chill spots with live music or DJs. Did not manage to visit those fancy cocktail bars there.
Loud, noisy, fun! The cheap drinks and loud music attract university kids like how bright lights attract files. Thai pop music (+ occasional kpop classics - think Super Junior, SISTAR, etc) throughout the night. People are singing along, LOUDLY. The dancefloor is everywhere, between and on top of tables...
If you are looking for some special local Thai liquor, find the cart selling raw shrimp salad right out. You might get to try this bright red, herbal-ish liquor from his secret stash...
I'm not exactly sure if they welcome tourists... So if possible, find some local friends to bring you here!
Earworm from that night - BLVCKHEART - อยากจะกอดเธอนาน ๆ (HAVE A GOOD TIME) [Official MV]
This is a two-storey bar across the Ping River. The crowd is mainly local and more mature.
They have live band performances throughout the night. A cool spot to enjoy the performances is on the second-floor by the railings. Juji, a thai band, was playing that night. Had a chat with their lead singer, Poppy, outside the bar, and she gave me 4 packets of krapow. (I left them in the fridge and forgot to eat them before leaving for Chiang Rai... sorrrrry!)
I searched them up on Spotify and found this song that I really like - Jūji, Taiyu Fujiwara - Fantasy Official Visualizer
